Chapter 4: College
Yesterday I moved in. I brought soooooo much crap. I mean stuff. And by that, I mean a TON of stuff. Three cars of stuff, to be exact. When I pulled up to unload my car, which was the fullest of the three, the girl made a face. I apologized for bringing so much stuff. She said "Don't even worry about it, one girl brought three cars of stuff. THREE cars. Can you believe that? So trust me, you're not the worst." My response was "Three cars? No way! Who would do that?" Surprisingly, everything fit in my room.
After we got settled in, my roommate and I went on an excursion through Bellingham to find a Joann Fabrics. I've had this realization that everything is bigger in Bellingham. The Fred Meyer is giant. The Joann Fabrics was enormous.
Last night was fun. We went to "funtivities" in the dorm. "What is 'funtivities?'" you may ask. Well, it's exactly as it sounds. My roommate and I left early and came back to go to bed. The first night was good except the refrigerator which I acquired from my brother, is actually the world's loudest. It's ridiculous. All night long it was making noises. One time I thought it was an earthquake. Nope. Just the refrigerator!
I already feel like I've been eating like a college student. The dining hall is closed so last night my roommate and I went to the grocery store. I got a calzone that looked delicious, but I was too lazy to go find a microwave so I ended up eating my parent's leftovers from lunch. Free food! Breakfast and lunch I had granola bars. My roommate and I walked to the grocery store today and stopped at Wendy's on the way back. I'm pretty excited for the dining hall to open tonight!
My roommate and I checked out a new church this morning. We both really liked it but are going to look at a couple different ones. We are definitely considering going back.
I've met a ton of new people, but remember about 2 names. I'm terrible with names. Class doesn't start until Wednesday and I'm actually a little bit excited for that. There's only so much to do around the dorm!
P.S. Here are some before & after pictures of the dorm.
